Benagalbon is within the municipality of Rincon de la Victoria and is just two kilometres inland from the beaches at Rincon, 12 kilometres from Malaga and is also close to the 18-hole Añoreta Golf course.

During each September, Benagalbon hosts its annual Fiesta and Contest of Pandas de Verdiales - a traditional music from Axarquia. The contest begins with various bands playing simultaneously in the same square! After judges decide which is best, they disperse to play separately in different venues throughout the town. Benagalbon was founded by Moors who perfected innovative agricultural methods and techniques for crop cultivation in the area, particularly creating wealth from vineyards.

Current day Benalgabon has all the advantages of a traditional attractive white village with its own facilities plus very close proximity to coastal resorts, sandy beaches, Malaga City and Malaga Airport.
