Cajiz is situated 27 kilometres east of Malaga and 5 kilometres from the coast at Almayate and Benajarafe, in the region of
Axarquia. The village has a population of 640 and an altitude of 175 metres.
A small village, Cajiz has a couple of excellent bars and restaurants and has easy access
to nearby larger towns and facilities.
Overlooking the Mediterranean, the single-storey, white-washed, red-roofed houses of
Cajiz have grown around the 18th century church of San Jose; and the village thrives on an income from local agriculture.
