YURT HOLIDAYS
|
YURT HOLIDAYS IN SPAIN are situated on a plateau in the mountains of
Axarquia, half an hourīs drive from the beaches of
Torre del Mar on the Costa del Sol. The yurts look out over spectacular countryside
to La Maroma, the highest peak in the Tejeda mountain range,
and are surrounded by hills covered with olive groves and almond trees. The location is just one hourīs drive from Malaga airport or one
and a half from Granada.
The yurts are reached through a series of tracks through the hills which link to tarmac roads. A network of further tracks leads
to a succession of traditional, white villages including historic Sedella,
Canillas de Aceituno, Rubite and
Arenas, offering shops, restaurants and local colour. The area is ideal for walking, mountain biking,
climbing, horse riding or meditation and retreat. The lack of traffic adds to the restful ambience and the only sound interrupting the varied bird-song
is the passing goatherd and the bells of his grazing animals.

Seville, Cordoba,
Ronda and El Torcal are within a day-tripīs drive and
there are a multitude of places in between for planning interesting visits around the many fiestas and events
which take place throughout the year.
In a separate building next to the yurts, there is a private bathroom and kitchen. There is also an adjacent barbeque area and a swimming pool for the sole use
of yurt guests. Five minutes walk away is a renovated farm house, where there is an additional swimming pool and internet access for guests to use at anytime.
Airport pickup, fridge stocking and anything you may require to make your holiday relaxing and enjoyable are offered as additional facilities.
The charge is 20 euros per night per adult with small children free. Prices for older children are by negotiation and discounts are available
for stays longer than one week.
