Visible at latitudes between +32º and -90º and best at mid-evening during December. In the northern hemisphere, the constellation of Eridanus is considered a winter constellation and is visible from October to April depending on the time of night.

Eridanus is a large constellation streching from the celestial equator to the far south. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 1st century astronomer Ptolemy and remains one of the 88 modern constellations.
