Come and join us for the exclusive thrill of a lighter-than-air flight in the undiscovered Andalucian hinterland
near to the Costa del Sol, and take a birds-eye view of the spectacular Spanish countryside. Weather permitting, we offer
daily passenger flights in Ronda and Antequera two of the most historic towns in Andalucia and only a short drive from
Malaga. With the predominantly good flying conditions here in Southern Spain, we can offer balloon
flights all year round. The changing seasons enhance the experience and offer something unique during each flight. So
climb aboard and enjoy the magic of the oldest and gentlest form of aviation.
Balloon flights are available all year round but only in stable weather
conditions, to make sure that your experience is as safe and enjoyable as possible. Your pilot and crew will choose a
suitable launch site and prepare the balloon for inflation. Ballooning is very much a hands-on sport, so you may well be
invited to help with the pre-flight preparations. Before launch you will be fully instructed on safety procedures required
for the flight.
The balloon launches in the calm air at dawn and once airborne will fly for at least
an hour in the gentle breeze amidst a panoramic landscape. A balloon basket is a very stable platform for photography and
some of the most stunning views in Southern Europe are to be found here in Andalucia. On a clear day it is possible to see
the mountains of North Africa and the Rock of Gibraltar.
Hot-air ballooning is a very gentle sport, and we are not out to break any altitude
records! Most flights are between 200 and 300 metres above ground level with the pilot making directional changes by
gaining or losing altitude. The real joy of ballooning is being able to see clearly what is on the ground and sometimes
even chatting to people as they are passing below.
Once a suitable landing site has been chosen the pilot will instruct passengers to
stow their cameras and prepare to gently touch back down to earth. The crew will be nearby in the retrieve vehicle ready to
assist in the final part of this amazing adventure. The balloon is deflated and then packed away into its bag and then the
basket is stowed on the trailer. Breakfast time at last!
A traditional toast with a glass of chilled Cava provides a fitting end to the
voyage. Local delicacies such as tortilla, quails eggs and Serrano ham are rounded off by coffee and cakes. The atmosphere
is relaxed and now is the time for stories to be told and a chance to unwind with the balloon crew. Finally, each passenger
will receive a Flight Certificate as a memento of this special occasion.
