NEW PASSENGER TERMINAL
Designs for a new passenger terminal at Malaga airport, the work for which has
commenced, were made public in 2002.
The plans show that the terminal will be an extension of the present one,
keeping everything under one roof. The main advantage of this is that passengers who arrive by coach, taxi or private car
will not have to go outside at all. The capacity of the passenger terminal will be doubled, with a huge coach station in a
transport exchange centre, which will include the railway.
The intended 224,000 square metres of the terminal building will allow 9,000
passengers to pass through at peak times, instead of the present 6,555. The car park will have doubled its capacity and there will be 84 new check-in points and ten new fingers for embarking. Getting from one point to another should neither take too long nor be too complicated. |
