October 21: The Orionids
This shower lasts for a month but it will be at its peak on October 21st when the moon is new. That’s great timing because the Moon will be new and no issue whatsoever. Look above Orion’s bright reddish star Betelgeuse.
November 5: The Southern Taurids
This won’t be that spectacular this year as the moon will spoil it a bit. Look along the western edge of Taurus.
November 17: The Leonids
Good timing with the peak of the shower and a new moon.
December 14: The Geminids
There can be over 100 observable meteors an hour in this shower – aim for the bright star Castor.
