The cable car station, from where you commence your journey, is located in the south district at the top of Main Street after passing the enticing duty-free shops. If visiting Gibraltar, other than for a shopping spree of products you can probably buy in Spain now-a-days, this excursion is a MUST. With panoramic views of Gibraltar, the Straits and Africa, the cable car takes you to the top of the Rock with incredible vistas en-route.
The cable car covers a distance of 673 metres, rising 352 metres. At the top there is a welcome bar and restaurant from where you can take in the views covering two continents and gasp in awe.
The middle stop, which you can choose going either up or down, drops you near to Ape’s Den next to Queen’s Gate. This stop is another must to see the apes in situ and consider the legend surrounding them.
